Our first trip to Málaga was in May 2010 as part of a two week tour of Spain. Together with my husband and then 10 year old daughter, we traveled all over Spain beginning in Barcelona and ending in Madrid. In the middle we were in Andalucía. These are some pics of our two days in Málaga.
We arrived in Málaga in the late afternoon so after checking into our hotel we went in search of food. Some of the food we ate – Malagueñan potato salad, anchovies, lamb chops and french fries:
Some of the many things you can buy at the Atarazanas market:
We walked towards the Roman Theater and at that time there was a fence around the theater as there was work going on and we encountered this sign:
It made us feel very welcome. First a look at the teatro romano:
Next, up the hill of the alcazaba:
Miss M defends the castle:
View of the port:
Amazing architecture:
Great stonework too:
And then a nice rest at El Pimpi:
just incredible! thank you for sharing!
thanks!!

We fell in love with Spain last year and are seriously considering a move there ourselves.. We did a 7 week driving tour of Spain and Portugal starting in Barcelona ~ AVE Train to Madrid and then hiring a car and ‘loosely’ following Rick Steves 22 day driving tour.. So much history, amazing architecture and Wow the Tapa’s .. loved Seville, the ‘Pueblo Blanco’s’ Spent a few days on the Costa Dell Sol in Puerto Banus, had a nice day in Malaga en-route to Granada..
We’re going back again this fall to check out the Costa Blanca and spend a week in Barcelona, the 3 nights we were there last year just wasn’t enough!! :)
Last year was a great 50th Birthday year for me..
Keep up your Blog entries, thanks for sharing.
I too need to go back to Barcelona. We had 2.5 days there and we barely scratched the surface. A week sounds just marvy. thanks for your fun comments! perhaps we can be neighbors in Spain ;)
