late spring blooms

Spring arrived just in time for summer here in the frozen tundra with things blooming about two weeks later than average.  Here’s a few of the blooms in my garden in the last week or so.  I love this columbine that grows in a crack in the patio.  It comes back every year.

I have several bleeding hearts and they fill me with awe every year.  So delicate and lovely:

A lilac blossom:

A viburnum blossom whose scent is a bit overpowering. Luckily they only blossom for a few days:

And just for fun, here’s a tiny green frog (or is it a toad?) that I found hopping around while I weeded:

  1. “Spring arrived just in time for summer…” Ha ha. It’s about time.
Love your garden and yes, I believe in ‘wearing’ my camera into the garden in case I see a green flog while I weed. Ha ha. You’re cute.

    1. well, we had another crappy, dreary, cloudy and cold spring. so it went from that to nearly or over 80 degrees every day for over a week now. see? it’s summer already and we never had spring. that’s a cool picture you painted but I usually don’t wear my camera while weeding. probably was weeding and “oh! a frog. I need to take a picture!” then went to get the camera :)
