Spring in Los Angeles

I used to create posts for spring blooms in the twin cities so I thought I would continue the tradition now that I’m in Los Angeles. As one can imagine, spring is quite different here. There are so many interesting and colorful flowers. Not only that, but the hills just north of where I live are a beautiful green. Check it out:

Next up, a gallery of bougainvillea. They were blooming when we arrived in November and they’ve been blooming ever since. So I can’t really call these spring blooms but I love this plant so they get a spot here combined with rhododendron, azalea and hibiscus.

More beautiful flowers and a dragonfly on my kitchen screen. You can see the orange trees in the background:

And the rest. Yucca flowers, roses, orange and grapefruit blossoms and so much more!

That’s a lot of flowers! And it’s not nearly all of the lovely blooms around here, just some that I’ve seen on my walks around the neighborhood and hikes and bird walks that I’ve been on this spring. I chose my favorites but there were so many more in my library. There were just too many! It’s a flower-lover’s paradise and I’m loving it!
