Our neighborhood egret from last year:
Neighborhood goose family:
I took this photo just as this anhinga spread its wings:
Reblogged this on The ObamaCrat™.
thanks for the reblog my friend!! much appreciated :-)
Always my pleasure.
:-)
I have to stand on their tail feathers to keep them in place long enough to take the shot, Tobyo! (not really, but maybe that’s why I have no bird photos :( )
he he ;) that’s what zoom is for. that’s what I used for all of these. :-)
I’m with Jo on this… the tufty little buggers just don’t hold still for long enough!
zoom, zoom, zoom! and dare I say it again? ZOOM! :-)
I need a ZOOM & FREEZE setting!
nah, just tip toe and zoom ;)
That’s where I’m going wrong, quite literally. I blame the cakes.
LOL! ;)
Wonderful entry …. birds, they never sit still long enough for me to get a shot of them – except my swan family … I should join the challenge. How peaceful that goose family is .. on the road. Great captures all of them.
thanks! yes, one must be very quiet…..and as I said to Jo, use your zoom!
All lovely birds, Toby. I love the egret especially. They are so graceful. :-)
thank you! that egret lived in the pond all last spring and summer but sadly it did not return this year so I’m glad I took the opportunity to photograph him/her at the time.

The first photo is poetic and the third is a cool shot! Love the goose family :)
thanks! the geese are so abundant in my neighborhood! one day as I was coming home I saw a line of about 9 of them waddling very quickly down the street. I couldn’t get my camera out fast enough. perhaps I’ll get another try this spring/summer.
Oh these are just beautiful !
thank you very much!!
