Nature Photo Challenge – Cacti

And what a great challenge it is! I love cacti and have photographed many. I hope you will enjoy some of my favorites. If you’d like to enter this challenge or to view other entries, click here.

I’ve used this one before, but I love it so here it is again, a pink cactus flower from the United States Botanic Garden. Editing to add that this is a desert rose as one of my followers points out in the comments. And now I can see that if I zoom in on the photo of the entire plant:

And here’s the entire plant:

From the Jardín Botánico Histórico La Concepción, Málaga, Spain where there is a huge display of cacti:

And here’s the entire plant. I’ve never seen a cactus like this one:

Okay, I guess it’s time to go elsewhere. Here’s another from the U.S. Botanic Garden:

And look, here’s the same cactus but this time it’s flowering. Can you tell I like the U.S. Botanic Garden?

Some flowering cacti from the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum:

This is not the best photo from the Arboretum but here’s another interesting looking cactus:

I hope you’ve enjoyed this tour of cacti photos from my collection. My cover photo is from the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, a singular beautiful yellow cactus blossom.

    1. Thanks! Oh yes, I love botanical gardens. And all the gardens I’ve visited are so different. Thanks for this fun challenge!

    1. Oh, maybe I’ve seen your desert rose? It’s a different color no? A darker pink? I’ve been busy in the last few weeks so I’ll have to go check out more of your desert rose photos. Thanks for stopping by!

    1. Of course! And thank you! Funny thing? I was at the U.S. Botanic Garden this past weekend where I took even more photos of cactus! They are so fun.
